Do we need to reference existing comics or can we create our own superhero spoofs for the contest?

From what I can tell, only the photoshop one requires actual existing superheroes, the other categories seem to allow, if not encourage making new superheroes.

I've got a pretty cool idea for what I'm going to do with this. Hopefully I have the skills to pull it off.

Also, are you allowed to make an entry for each category, or can each person only do one of them?

Yes, as long as it's tagged correctly, you will be good. You can post them in this thread too, may be even easier!

Have fun everybody!

Sounds fun! Thanks for allowing different ways to go about this for those who may not be good at just one thing and also for the nice page and date ^^

I may mess around with writing something, got a few ideas in mind :stick:

Is there any maximum length limit for stories? I can go overboard when writing, so it'd be nice to know.

I'm entering the Original Art contest with Kage and I dare anyone to stop me.

(Or him. Because he's going to be unstoppable and such.)

How anal are you going to be about grammatical accuracy? Spell check, obviously, but commas and semicolons and such?

I might try some writing if I can think of a good plot idea. I am used to writing either really smutty or really gory stuff though (or a combination of the two).

#BDsuperherocontest

You better have your best assembled soon, Duke, because your super villain is here.

Possessed by the mind of a corrupt host, Kon is a twisted variant of anomaly that desires nothing more than complete chaos, even if at a risk to its own well being. Acidic substances course through its veins and burn all who may touch its skin, but that's not the part you have to worry about. Even a fleet-footed hero needs to be wary of the searingly hot tendrils that protrude from every area of the anomaly's body, all of which can be extended at an alarming range. Worst of all? You're unlikely to ever see them, and only the most keen-sighted hero would be wise to watch for the warping thermals in the air.

Inspired by a mixture between Marvel's Venom and Carnage, and based on Kage the Anomaly.

... And also because I wanted to design a character for my custom colour scheme at some point anyways!

Sooo this might be a really dumb question, but is this competition strictly centered on Western style superheroes? Because I have a few ideas but before I act on them I thought I should check!

Ohman I dropped everything I was doing to start on my entry as soon as I saw the contest...
Myself, I'm drawing some BD characters as some popular supervillains~
I just hope I finish it in time ;3; the shading process takes me a while.

Could enter this, got some ideas brewing.
Could help take my mind off things.

From reading the rules, it seems like ones like Original. You can draw them as a superhero. I don't think they have to be based off any other hero.... I think

Original Art: Draw your favorite BD character or characters as superheroes or superheroines!

it doesn't seem to specify, so I assume it doesn't matter ;)

Come on folks, we can't let such a diabolical villain stand without opposition. Heroes assemble!

v_raptor_lily_v1.jpg

Lily has recently acquired the abilities of Velocityraptor and is eager to suit up and put them to the test. Able to accelerate from zero to supersonic in the blink of an eye, she can generate a sonic shockwave that is an effective, if somewhat indiscriminate, weapon. Unfortunately, she's still trying to get the hang of high speed cornering and sudden stops.

I've rushed this out and cut more corners than I can think of, but it looks decent overall. I've kept it low detail and will be rigging and doing something dramatic with it tomorrow if I have time.

Ok so I already got ten pages for my little piece of super hero fiction filled with the works. How long should I really make this thing cause I'm sure I can go to about 20 some pages and I don't want to overwhelm anyone

Superpowers are for chumps. All you really need is discipline, training, and some cool weapons.

Shark dong sai inspired the whole thing. I couldn't shake the idea until I stayed up all night drawing it. If there's a special prize for abuse of the smudge function I'm claiming it. I'm a god damn digital fingerpainter. :buddy:
