Well, here is my attempt for the #bdpumpkincontest, kinda keeping with the Fallout 4 theme. Not sure it came out like I imagined but I'm still satisfied this the end result. :stick:

man, what do you guys (and girls) use to carve the skin off so well and precisely. I swear it took me an hour to scrape it off my pumpkin with the dumb little plastic tool I have. :crying:

I used steel clay modelling tools for mine, though you could also use knifes, razors, blades, your nails (if you have them, mine worked fine picking bits out and was actually most accurate and easy), veg peeler for large areas, maybe a toothpick? skewers? chisel? possibly a flat head screwdriver? ect

All I had to use was an X-acto swivel knife, a spoon, and a pair of tweezers. (and about 3 hours)

I use wood carving tools (and alot of time!).

Those little carving kits they sell at walmart with the plastic tools are garbage, tbh. You can use an X-acto knife and a metal spoon/knife to get pretty much all you need. Plastic just kinda rubs off the skin/meat, metal tools actually carve it.

Man, there is some STIFF competition here! Everyone's pumpkins look so fantastic! :nomnom: Lucky for me I get to enjoy it either way, as Janine's pumpkin was immediately turned to pie! :3

Well, two ruined pumpkins and a whole set of bent up carving tools later, and all I have to show for it is this poor little entry. Oh, well! I still had fun, even if it didn't turn out very well! And hey, five dollar credit, right?

Sorry about the orientation again. I've tried everything I know to make it come out right.

Also I am loving all these entries! Great job, everybody!

I see what you did there. Janine sounds like a tasty pie, be it a pumpkin pie or her actual "pie"

I just went to Walmart and picked up one of those four dollar pumpkin carving kits. I took a sculpting class in my senior year, so I know my way around a set of carving tools.

Hey guys,

I just now joined so I could post these pictures. #bdpumpkincontest

I was debating between doing Janine and Anthroshark. Eventually, I settled for the latter. I'm having trouble lighting her properly, mostly due to a lack of proper pumpkin candles, but she was a lot of fun to carve.

Considering the circumstances, I have named this pumpkin "Miss Popular."

(PS: Don't mind my roommates' bong in the background. I didn't wanna mess with their stuff in preparing the picture)
