Ahhh I'm so jealous.
I am super outdoorsy, but live where it gets really cold in the winter :C

In the summer though, you will never find me inside! I love hiking at Niagara Falls, around the forests there, and at Zoar Valley.

I've been to Arizona quite a few times...Zion was my favorite place to explore.

I agree, it's a bit of a bother, but if it's the only way to get rid of spammers... Still, you can bet they will get around it. Yesterday, when the spam was incoming, I noticed at least 15 different users. They can just make new accounts for every thread, and you know they will. =/

Just sitting here, trying to post after my last reply, to a different thread... 5 minutes so far and I still can't post. Going to try as of minute 7...

it actually ended up being about 5min for me, maybe you caught it just before the timer ran out?

Possibly. Someone else has said 6 minutes. Either way...it is a bit annoying, but hopefully it helps get rid of the spammers, though they can simply get around it by creating heaps of new accounts. I still think something like. mods must approve the first post of all new members, would be more helpful, and wouldn't limit actual forum users.

I actually liked that persons idea about a capcha when you CREATE a new thread. I think that would do the job just fine, since they (spambots) don't really post...just...keep creating new threads. Makes sense?

The only problem (literally the only one) I see with that is when we want to make late night posts and the mods aren't around. Unless they get a new person on strictly for the dead hours.

I think it was ment that just the first initial post of a new member must be approved?
seems like a fine idea to me.

Oh, I didn't mean for regular forum users, I just meant someone who has made a brand new account, to have their first post approved by a mod, before it can actually be posted. I have seen a few forums operate this way and it does work. It will also weed out those who seriously want to use the forum, from those who just want to spam it. A new member probably won't be bothered by their first post needing to be mod approved, before posting. There is no, urgent reason why anyone new would need a message approved, instantaneously.

This is a great idea too...it would just depend on if the mods are actually up to the task of doing it. They already do a lot when they are around on the forums, including holding contests, helping members, and mediating heated discussions, and making sure everyone is following the posting rules. Maybe they could get a few more people on staff for the purpose of moderating new topics from new users? Since we DO get a pretty decent number of new users on a regular basis.

this new post system is making giving advise a chore... thought that was half the point of the forums? :unamused:

p.s. blablabla waiting to be able to post.

Ok, so it's not just me accidentally double-clicking the submit button. :eyeroll:
I figured BD would implement something to rid the spammers but didn't think they'd go about it by inconveniencing everyone on the forums, too... :misc4:
Pretty unnecessary IMO.

It would also help cut down on the unnecessary posts by new users that ought to be a ticket. If a mod has to approve the first post of each account, they'd be more likely to catch people who only want to complain about things that the forums can't help them with. A certain topic involving a Lily comes to mind :eyeroll:

First post to unlock would work much better than having, say, a timer on posting for the first time (can't post in the first 24 hours). That would just mean the people running the bots would queue up accounts for the next day, if they're that intent on staying here. It might deter some people, but idk what the hit ratio per spambot "needs" to be for it be considered successful... :unamused:

I guess we'll see how the cooldown period works this week and if BD tweaks it?

Well, I can't argue with that. I thought the captcha would've been the better option but at least they're doing something about it, and sooner rather than later!

Told myself that I was pretty much done with buying BD dicks for a while. I'll have 11 when my new Sleipnir and Scorn arrive. I've got a nice variety of dicks and I thought I'd be set, especially since I don't toy very often thanks to being asexual with a very low libido. I'm also living with my parents at the moment, so that limits when/where I can toy anyway. However, thanks to being in the habit of scanning the adoptions page, I've got ideas for a few more toys I feel the need to have. Now on my list I've got a medium Crash and a medium Elden. I also keep eyeing Xar and Apollo (probably smalls for both, maybe mediums, but only in 3 due to their girth). My sock and underwear drawer where I keep my toys is getting a bit heavy, lol.
31/Asexual/Genderfluid (biologically female).

See my profile for a list of the toys I own. Please do not solicit me about selling any of my toys.

AHhh I have the same problem LOL.

I keep telling myself 'Okay, after this one, I'll have all I need' -looks at 13 dildos- It's to the point where I'm in the market for a new toybox. :eyeroll:

But then I look on the adoptions page...'Ooooh, but this one looks like it might be fun! AND my birthday is coming up next month! I deserve a lil somethin...'

NO VITANI. BAD VITANI.

I'm trying to be strict with myself, because I really wanna save up to hit some more cons this upcoming year.

I can't say I'm really a fan myself, but when I post I do tend to do it in bursts. Hopefully it's very temporary. I can only amuse myself with porn and cat videos between posts for so long :stick:

The whole reason I am willing to buy in the near future is due to the recovery of a lost check in my room. I have an Uncle who sends a birthday check every year. One year, while doing a little cleaning, I find an uncashed check from a previous year and they are only valid for 6 months. It was past 6 months. The sense of dread I felt seeing $100 essentially lost... So different from finding a forgotten $20 in an old birthday card which lifts your spirits! I ended up putting it aside somewhere, depressed that my forgetfulness cost me a good deal of money. Cleaning my room again, I found it again (but feared it was just another one rather than the same one. Still don't know for sure). My mother offered to ask a bank about it just in case. Good thing she did.

It was one of those paid check things, not a personal check. The bank it was issued from had the money in their possession, and the bank told my mother that there was a chance it would still be good if deposited rather than cashed. She gave me the good news and off to the bank we went. Not a hitch! Check reclaimed! Plus I deposited my Christmas money so I wouldn't spend it. (more likely to spend money if I have cash sitting in my wallet/purse)

As a result of that happy surprise, I have enough to get one of these toys with some left over. It has been a long time since I made a big purchase. (I remember when I used to buy Xbox 360 games on release that were $60 on the rare occasion I wanted one, like Skyrim and Fable 2)

At this point I think it's safe to say a sign-up captcha or something would be better at the point in time where someone joins up with the forum than the posting limit. They're still goin' at it. :eyeroll: The time limit is getting a little annoying too since I am such a fast typer, I have to wait in between post for what seems like forever. :psyduck:

The spammers are already starting. I *really* think a "all new accounts must have their first post approved by a mod" idea, would fix the issue. Or even a probationary period, of all new accounts may only start 1 new thread a day until they reach 50 posts, or something like that. No one needs to create multiple threads a day, anyway. Yes, I know some people make a couple when selling, or whatever, but even then you don't need more than a couple.

The 5-minutes-between-posts thing...is getting annoying. I've noticed we don't even have half as many posts as usual, by regular members. No one wants to wait 5 - 10 minutes between posting.

I am trying to only buy a toy every other month... only worked for one month. :misc6: :eyeroll:
I know I should stop stalking the adoptions, but, all the pretties... "Hello, my name is Dracon and I have a problem..."

Now I am torn, be a responsible adult and don't get a new toy or wait at least for February before I order that custom large Crackers I want. Soft, suction cup, opalish marble, only yellow and green with the silver highlight, it will be so pretty :misc2:
Not talking about the medium Flint in the adoption, that really makes me want an Iron Bull dick
If it's still there next week, I will be very tempted...

When I signed up for the forums, there was a captcha on the registration page. :sniffing:
So that sort of thing is already in place. For registration anyway. I think. Pretty sure there was a captcha for forums, not sure about the store. Unless I mixed up the two.
