I don't think it's either one of those to be honest. Opal is a gargantuan pain in the ass but one more/less week of it isn't going to make that big of a difference. I think it just happens to be the way the schedule runs.

I dunno, man... It could be the schedule, but on the other hand, every other month's color ends on time, sooooo why this particular month? Except that Opal's a giant pain to pour, which I totally believe?

A week less might not make a whole lot of difference to the order volume, but hey, they'll only have to pour it for three weeks xD

They may have all ended on time but not all of them started on time. Alexandrite started on the 3rd and Emerald on the 6th of their respective months. I'm guessing Opal will be the same.

Unless it was a flop from last year, there was/is? an Opal Tongue in adoptions that appeared to be of the same make as the ones that were done last year. It's possible that they might have tweaked the recipe but as it looks now I think Opal is in the clear.

There's one there now and I just adopted an Opal Tongue a couple of weeks ago and it looks the same as it did before. I don't think we have to worry about them tweaking it. :3 There's more pics of mine in the show me your tongue thread if you wanna see a recent example of Opal.

Wow, that is an... involved pour. I understand why BD don't take custom orders that involve hand painting and such, but it really hits home how much of a shame that is when we get glimpses of toys like these.

Weirdly, I think the most striking thing for me is the gloss effect - never seen BD apply that before!

TBH They will probably tell you it's not possible, mostly because they don't want to do the effort of nice things like that. People have asked plenty and they keep saying they're "not capable of doing such things". /eyeroll

Seems like if you're a camgirl or someone popular in the porn industry you won't get nice, regal things like those. Seems like they reserve the gratitude for anyone who isn't just an "average" customer.

Either do it, or don't. Charge extra. None of here would mind that I'm sure, for a custom we really want.

Don't care so much about the complicated colors but...lol they do shit like this, and when I ask them to please pour me a toy in a mold without printer texture (cos some toys have it and some don't of the model and size im looking at) they tell me they cant do anything about that :/ Even though I don't care if it costs extra, or if my wait time is longer because of mold hold up...because I have a MEDICAL ISSUE. If I got a toy with that much printer texture, it would literally be 140$ for an UNUSABLE TOY. God i'm livid.

Paying extra would be awesome; Cracker's texture ruined my insides but I *loved* his model. I feel like BD is being very... selfish? with the generosity they show to a small magnitude of their support base. :|

I mean it may not be super amazing to some, but Ruby has been spoiled with many *free* toys for review that I would gladly pay extra for but they won't do for what reason...?

I understand why they don't offer things like this for the general customer because I imagine with the volume of orders they get, and how popular it would be, it might not be realistic. HOWEVER, showing that they CAN do these things and giving them away to "special customers" really hurts customer relations. I'm irrationally angry about the patterning on that Crackers. I just... who even are those people? Why are they special? What is so great about them that they can get BD to do "impossible" colorations?? Is it because they are recognizable in some community, so their endorsement would be valuable? But how disappointed are the new customers who might find BD through them going to be when they find out that the good pours are only for the "special" people? Part of me wants to hope that hand painted details might be an offering in the future with the "big changes", but seeing as how fades are suddenly too difficult to do, I seriously doubt it.

It's like... yeah, that sucks and I'm mad about it, but even if you accept the premise that some people are going to get special colorations as a Thing, and then you go to the product page, and see even toys on their own product pages with colors that are suddenly too difficult to do. ?????? So like, what does that tell you about exactly how much of a shit BD gives about paying consumers? God.

ESPECIALLY when those paying consumers have often asked for a color, said they'll take whatever is poured first, and are STILL told no. Like that one person who wanted split lips on their Natascha, was told no EVEN if they took the first pour, and then like two weeks later a bunch of split lip Nataschas showed up?

And yeah, I really don't think BD is moving to hand painted models since fades and highlights and split lips and anything that has even a slight chance of failing is suddenly too difficult and has been for approaching a year now.

I haven't been here that long and I knew about a lot of this drama before I started purchasing and decided to buy anyway, but being more involved with the forums and stuff, it's really making me consider being done supporting BD directly.

I might've not been here for a long time but I agree, you shouldn't spoil a minority and then snub the majority. ESPECIALLY those who dropped hundreds upon hundreds of dollars into their products. It simply tells that majority that they aren't worth it enough to offer elaborate toys for a bit more of a price.

I love BD and their toys. I can understand where that won't be good business wise but meh. I might just be a bit salty today.

I just wish Bad Dragon would update what they can and can't do; because it's really disheartening to see them giving this stuff away. :B I've always envied them for their quality but they have been slipping lately.
