Now that I'm married and had the time to build a connection with that body part I don't feel so weirded out by it, but I just think men are more connected to the image of the penis more than women since men generally are visual creatures and the penis is apart of their own self image. Whereas a person like me who is a female who grew up with two sisters and no brothers, my first exposure to male genitalia was a gang rape scene in The Butterfly Effect.. and then subsequent phallic shaped aliens in a monster movie... So after that, the penis weirded me out.

I can see how you would feel that way, I think my feelings and experiences are a little different though. Although I can see how other people feel on this could be a really interesting subject.

I had seen plenty of artistic nude penis's, or presented in a very scientific or medal manner growing up, and so I was exposed to penises in very neutral way. I just think they look ugly, and a bit weird, even though I have spent a great deal of time with male partners. I like what they do, I just don't like how they look. Which is why I have no issues with my partners.

However random penis pictures, I can be grossed out by. I really hate coming across photo's on the Internet of random shots of men with their penises erect that they have just taking themselves in unlikely to be flattering angles.

I think your right about men being more connected to the image. Since you do get some men who think that sending "dick pics" to people is going to impress them. Even though for me that is the worse part they could possibly show off, and many other women tend to not be impressed by it either. I know to the man they probably think they are showing an "asset" but I am just like no... I am probably going to like many other things much more than that...

That's even ignoring the argument of reducing people to their genitals, and how people are much more than that.

Since being bisexual I do find certain features men have to be attractive, just penises aren't one of them.

In my circle of friends, if a guy sends one of us a dick pic, we pass the picture around and make fun of him. So let that be known to guys who sends unsolicited dick pics to girls: girls talk, and a lot of the things they have to say aren't really nice.

The size of a man's junk is really the last thing I care about, you can do anything with genitalia if you know how to work it, and size doesn't equate to skill.

Yeah, that is common with girls...

Oh yes, that is very true. Plus it can be how the man listens to your wants and needs too, since all women are different. However talking with your partner and working with what they want, then it can be amazing.

It was nothing personal, it is just a subject I do feel passionately about. Any ranting is about the subject itself and not aimed at any one person here.

It was a discussion, not a lecture. Thanks.

Might not have been a gang scene. But I remember seeing a guy whip his penis out in penis and tried to make Ashton's character give him a blow job. I've only seen the movie once and it was a long time ago, so my memory isn't the best there

Ah! Now I know what you meant. It was 2 guys but it wasn't really rape as his character was "doing the work" (with reluctance) and no sex actually happened... I won't ruin the scene if people want to see the movie.
But yeah, I understand what you mean now.

I find nothing wrong with the male form. Nothing creeps me out about it or anything. There was a time I did crave a more realistic dildo, but I think that's because a lot of my fantasies centered around humans. But in actual session, it really did little to nothing for me, even if I was deep in a fantasy. I've found I like more bulging shapes and different textures. I've learned it's easier to fantasize about something if you have something that feels good for you, even if a Cockatrice dick is in me and I'm thinking of a human. I'll likely still get the Pearce eventually for the "piercing" and the fact I do appreciate a smooth phallus from time to time.

I like both, though in some aspects I like fantasy better (or a mix) like EE's Werewolf over BD's as its got a humaoid cock with a knot and fuzzy furry balls, Though David looks pretty smooth.

Most of my fictional crushes are human/humanoid anyways  save for maybe a few pokemon & furry characters.

Fantasy really add to the exotic factor though, I plan on getting a small "Galka Grey" CT Pierce for both my Galka for "Sultana's royal treatment" for FFXI related play and also cause I like my main (A male seawolf Roegadyn) FFXIV toon *that* much though he's more suited to medium size, I can't fit that. Plus I plan on getting an EE small werewolf that would rep him anyways as I picture him having a knot cause...SeaWOLF geddit? and then a beige medium winston's tail after my bf's au'ra (I have an anthro dragon, plus I've heard duke is printer texture heavy)

Here's my 2 cents. It got long. I made sections!

Realistic/Fantasy Dildos
I remember going online to look at dildos when I was 18 (over 10 years ago!) and being really turned off by all the "realistic" dildos available. Like, a whole screen of orange-y, pink-y things with red heads. I eventually got a glass one and an abstract shape purple one, but they did take a while to find since I would foray into "looking at dildos" and just get met with a bunch of turn offs.

There are a few specific "realistic" ones I like and have almost bought. I like the look of BR's Malus (too bad I found out about it right after they closed in early November and it's also a little too girthy for me) and I even like the "natural" coloring on EE's Halfling (which is also too girthy for me!).

I still get the screen of nope feeling when looking at sites like Pink Cherry or something. I think it is mostly uncanny valley territory like others have said. I think the two models above have enough details to not be gross looking. And veins or whatever aren't a turn off for me. I guess it's mostly the disembodied body part aspect (I feel the same way about hands) and close but not quite aesthetic details like too-big veins (some are closer than others!).

I think the "market dominated by men" thing is partly true. In my opinion, most women would want something colorful, sparkly and/or luxury looking toy if given the option (like an expensive makeup compact or something). I think it's easier now than before to find these kinds of things, so things are changing and different preferences are becoming known, especially with the internet. I feel like it used to be you could either get realistic or abstract. I feel like there is more in between now, and even the abstract ones are better. I think it would have been hard to find a dildo that looks like a gem or a nebula in it's coloring circa 10 years ago, for example. Maybe you could get a plain pink or purple thing. But, maybe I'm just more sex savvy and internet savvy now. I definitely spend more time than ever looking at these things.

Also for the record, I don't think dicks are gross. I don't think balls are gross. I like looking at them in porn. I like looking at illustrated/hentai/cartoon dicks. But that's not the first thing I'm thinking about when I fantasize about a guy or see a hot guy. Seeing a random guy whip it out on a bus is gross. And I've never had a dick pic sent to me, but I think that's gross too. It's gross in the same way that an unsolicited dirty pick up line is gross. It's uninvited and unwanted and therefore feels gross. I guess in that way, if you don't have a fantasy/character in mind and you are considering a realistic looking dildo, it might fall in the gross category faster/easier.

Cut/Uncut
I'm in the USA and I've only been with one guy and he is cut. But when I first saw it I was shocked! I have a little brother who is uncut and so I was vaguely familiar with it in that way. I do remember when my step-nephew was born my stepmother told us they were going to circumcise him. And my father went on a tirade about it. And I remember my stepmother was like, wait, is [my brother] not circumcised? And then went on a tirade on him about keeping it clean etc. and my dad was just like, it's no different than keeping your ears or butt clean! I feel really grateful that my mom must have read about this and made the decision not to circumcise my brother now. My little step-nephew's parents' opinions were literally like this. His father: I'm cut and I want him to be like me. His mother: I don't want to have to clean it for him until he can do it himself. (I think those are shit reasons.)

So, having just read about it at that time THAT conversation went down (I was maybe 12-14) I thought they only cut off a little, like so that the head shows through a little, maybe more than Flint shows. Until I saw it on a real person, I didn't really understand what it looked like / what it really was. I think any porn I had seen up to that point I just thought, Oh they're fully hard so it's "pulled back." When I first saw my BF's he was maybe semi hard ... so quite a bit was made clear rather quickly!

So, I think I prefer the uncut look to cut for dildos, but it may be my whole background/experience thinking about them before I saw one IRL with my BF. I don't think cut looks "wrong" per se, it's just what I prefer and this is a fantasy dildo forum so why not. There aren't many out there though. There's BD Flint and I've seen people say Elliot/Anthro Dragon is uncut, but I don't really see that one. Blue Ritual Malus is (I think it looks great) and there's also one by another maker whose model is called Thunder that looks similar in the head to MAlus, but overall is smoother looking (I understand the same person sculpted the two). I looked at whatever other maker was mentioned earlier in this thread, it looks a little generic to me ... Otherwise there really aren't many.

Echo
I've had a medium Echo in my cart for SO LONG and I just don't know if I should pull the trigger. I've seen positive and negative reviews (just like Nox has pos/neg reviews, but I feel like both are largely put forward as "best for vaginas"). So here's my stream on consciousness thinking about the model and if I should get it or not.

I had a small Echo in medium firmness and didn't get anything out of it. I didn't feel the ring, and honestly it didn't feel like much at all. I merely like my small Nox in medium, but I think I would like it in firm better and now that I've tried TTC's Alto, I think one central swell like Echo has would be better than Nox's weird double swells. Small Echo is also really narrow. Small Nox is girthier than it, and I've since taken girthier. Medium Echo would be the next step up, and medium Nox would be a little bigger than that (and, I think, too big for me). It makes me happy to hear the ring gets easier to feel in larger sizes. That was my main draw to it when I had the small. So I think I would like a medium Echo in firm, but I could end up not liking it. I've had such horrible luck with new purchases lately. The odds are 1:3 so far. :-(

You do know this topic is a year old right? Aside from necro posting, a decent number of people in this thread are inactive and this thread is pretty much forgotten about.

I just remembered it was January, seen the 2017 and 2018 and I can definitely see where someone would mix it up lol. No worries. Sorry if I sounded like a douche, I've seen a few older threads getting bumped recently and thought it was the same person >_>
Tbh I think some threads could do with some bumping, regardless of the year and it's fine.

Hmmmmm I like them all I guess?
Realistic human dildos do appeal to me, but I forego purchasing them because Bad Dragon toys are more pleasurable and interesting.

It's like choosing between gold and silver, I'll pick gold every time, thanks!

Since the forums are a bit down I think bumping threads that are about opinion/tell is ok :mystery:

Human dildos turn me on more than fantasy ones. I mean, I like dicks. Fantasy dongs are funny, gorgeous, different... but they don't turn me on as a human penis, the realistic the better. However they ends feeling very similar even with all the shapes possible, that's why I like fantasy theme, variety.
Resistance is futile.

I like both realistic and fantasy dildos, although I'm kind of picky since I personally don't identify as a furry :unamused: Sometimes I want something with a unique shape or a good curve, and sometimes I just want a good ol' human peen. Plus, as a transguy, it's nice having something that I can call "my" dick and feel a bit of a connection with, yeah?

The biggest advantage of fantasy dildos is definitely the colours and glitter though!! Sparkly dongs are the best dongs.

I agree with you re: bumping, a thread like this is more of a general discussion that anyone can participate in and enjoy even if the person who started the thread isn't here. It's distinct from, say, an advice post because in that case the question would be specific to OP and coming back at a later date wouldn't add anything.

It's also kind of nice to see my own post from a year ago and to reflect on how the market has changed - Mr. Hankey has burst on to the scene with large realistic silicone dicks (at very reasonable prices, too)! Boss Hogg is my new boyfriend  and El Rey is hands down the sexiest toy on the market... a pity he's long and thin and I'm only into girth, haha.

I find dildos less weird than Fleshlights. It's totally a personal thing, but it's just like... dicks naturally protrude outside the body. Mouths, butts, and vaginas don't.

you realized that you just called a toy that get to 3.5" thick thin right? I mean i can do the same, but i still really want one.

On to post subject. I can't really same that i am "attracted" to realistic toys par-say. I have always looked more at the size and shape of the toy. Same goes for fantasy toys really, I largely just enjoy all the interesting shapes, textures and of course size. I'm more into experimenting with what feels good and huge toys. That's always been a constant for me.

Yeah if it is a good thread, and an interesting discussion I don't see them problem with it at all. New people come to forums all the time, and they will have their thoughts and opinions too. Like if it is a news at the time thread, then it is pointless bringing stuff like that. Where as this will be interesting to people who haven't seen it before.
