I made an attempt...

I don't see an easy way to marble the base, so I did one blue version, one 'white' one. I'm a fan of split color bases myself, so I would get it as a split if it was my order.

Two versions, one more blue, one less blue. And of course, marbles are unpredictable, so take this with a huge grain of salt.

Am I right that Echo can’t be done with a fade? I was getting all interested in having him in Tucker’s Signature. . .

'No fades' appears to be correct, except it's worth asking Customer Service about your idea. IMO, ask about that exact color (Tucker's signature) don't ask about fades in general. I'd guess that signature colors have been proven to flop less.

They might ask you to agree to accept the toy even if the fade isn't smooth.

Hi, I hope this is a good place to post this! I received my second ever Bad Dragon order two days ago, and was super excited because customer support said that they could make my Pretzal in Giger Black for no extra charge! Then I opened up the package and, well… it looks nothing like the promotional photos, or of other photos of Giger Black toys I saw on this forum. I was massively disappointed. I’m wondering if you guys can help me confirm if there was an actual mixup.

I believe Giger Black is supposed to have a metallic effect, but I think maybe I got glitter instead? The color itself seems correct, but there are zero bands or ripples like I thought there were supposed to be. As you can see from the photo below, it’s overall a very solid, almost dull color. The glitter shows up pretty obviously with flash applied. It has a bit of a gold quality to it.

Is this normal for Giger Black?? And if not, is there anything I can do about it?

First photo is not lit very well, so it's hard to tell it apart from a regular black (that's not a criticism, Giger Black is a very dark color and hard to photograph well in low light).

2nd photo looks exactly like Giger Black.

I'm not sure why metallic colors sometimes 'pile up' with wavy metallic ripples, and sometimes not. Also, I think some people may like lots of metallic ripples and some people may like it more smooth.

Thanks so much for the input! I can definitely see how the piling effect might’ve just not happened in my pour. I guess the weird thing is how subdued the effect is. The first toy I purchased has a metallic effect on its base in a similarly dark color, and it looks totally different. This one basically looks matte unless I squint at it up close.

It’s comforting to know that I at least probably didn’t receive someone else’s toy by accident, haha.

You know, the three galaxy colors (like night sky) and exquisitely beautiful, but I really like it if they did it in other colors. Red, green, purple, even pink. I bet you get some nice aurora colors right there. Also, if there’s more glow in the dark colors, that’d be cool too.

In advance, I’m sorry if this is the wrong approach. If there’s another thread I can post this on (or even start a thread), I will be glad to delete this and move it to another.

There's quite a few colors that glow in the dark (I think GITD can be an additive). Check out the Bad Dragon Gallery thread for examples. There are some lesser-known GITD colors that have been used in marbles, which you could request as a solid color (etc). For the "Galaxy" colors, do you mean the "Infinity Star" colors?

You should bring up your ideas with Customer Service. I think they usually refuse to do custom 3 color marbles, but you could pose it as a suggestion, just to let them know that there's an interest in more colors in this style. It's possible that they'd expand it, as they started out with just one "Infinity Star" color, I believe.

Hey! They will do custom 3 color marbles but with a disclaimer (I got a toy made a few months back as a tri marble with a different base color)
.They won't do custom 4 color marbles though. The only 4 colors they do are Astral, Corporeal, Opal (new one), that Reese one from last month...and that bannerless color.

I’ll have to look at the GITD gallery to see some creative stuff. And as for the galaxy colors as I mentioned before, I was thinking of night sky, black gold, galaxy black(??). It’s where it has a black base, but with a shimmer of color. Sometimes,it can make the toy look metallic. I bet that would be pretty with red and aqua and pink...

I'm not sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong place, please let me know. I see a lot of posts in this thread about some really amazing color schemes, but is it actually possible to order a toy like that? The only custom options I see are fade and marble.

Also, I tried searching this forum for this question, but couldn't find much of anything so I'll try asking myself. Does anyone have any experience with the Surprise Me option? Some of my favorite toys are adoptions that were listed as Rogue for color. I'm planning on ordering a few toys this weekend and I'm considering going with Surprise Me for their colors. The optimist in me thinks the artist will see this as an opportunity to be creative and have fun with the color scheme. But the pessimist in me thinks I'll just get a solid color of whatever they have the most of.

You can get fancy colours and stuff when you send in a ticket! Make sure you do that BEFORE you order, as CS will walk you through the pricing/order.

And surprise mes really are hit and miss, some get super cool ones, but as you said, boring single-colour is also very very common, and they tend to not accept suggestions (like, someone said "anything but pink pls", and received pink)

Awesome! Thanks for the info. With your suggestion I'm going to take some time to decide what I want and send in a ticket to work on my toys from there. I've been pretty fortunate with the adoptions I've gotten so far, but I have a strong idea of what I want next now that I've sampled various shapes, sizes, and textures. Thanks again for your help.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a reply regarding a custom color request these days? My last purchase was a couple of years ago and every ticket I submitted was answered that same day or early the next. I'm looking to buy a couple of toys, so I submitted a ticket five days ago but still haven't gotten a response.

Just wondering if this is a normal wait time or if I should cancel the ticket and submit another. Don't know about Bad Dragon, but with other companies a message can sometimes get lost in the shuffle.

I've only used their customer service one time and it took them one day to answer. I heard of someone who waited 2 weeks and then their toys were shipped. This person didn't get any personal notification. The status of their order simply switched to shipped. We discussed this in the waiting syndrom topic earlier this week. They seem to be awfully busy atm.

The last time i ticketed for custom colors was during last years, Year is review event. they got emailed me back within 24 hours, i think? it has been a year.

another thing to keep in mind is business hours. I have found they tend to respond to a lot of my tickets in the morning on weekdays. BD is in AZ so they are 1 hour ahead of me on the west coast and 1 hour behind you. I cannot recall if they respond during the weekends.

hope this helps.

It took the Customer Service team 15 days to respond the ticket I raised on the 21st November re a custom colour order. I figured something had gone wrong, as normally they response within a couple of days, so I raised a second ticket; however, it turns out they're just much busier than usual at the moment. The message I received on the 6th Dec began with "We’re sorry for the delay! Our team is currently buried under a mountain of tickets waiting to be answered, but we are working as fast as possible to get all questions answered!"

Anyway... I managed to place my order on the 8th Dec and I got another message back from CS on 11th Dec saying they'd applied the custom colours I'd requested to my order. So it was all good in the end, but much slower than usual.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I just got a response back today. The total wait time was eight days, so I can definitely tell they're busy right now. It all works out, though--gives me time to consider if I really made the right choice on which toys to buy. Looks like I'll be getting a Nova in Hunter's Signature. :excited:

The only bad news is Ika doesn't support a split coloration. :crying: I was really hoping for a Turquoise base with the rest of the toy in Ika's Signature, making it look like the tentacle was emerging from crusty flesh that had been dormant for some time. Now I have to choose between Signature or Turquoise. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I love fades, so I recommend the signature fade. I haven't seen it in person, but so far my experience is that everything looks better in person. If not the signature fade, maybe you have an idea for a custom fade.

I dunno if or when I‘m going to order a new toy or two but I was thinking about getting one (Probably Dexter) based off of this:

So I‘m trying to decide between Violett and Royal purple but the colour previews on the BD-Site are a bit off which makes this slightly harder since I can’t find an example that easily.
If someone here has a toy in one of these colours (or a better Idea) this would be much appreciated.
