Recently found Melechesh, a black metal band originally from Israel.
They're in the Netherlands now, I'm guessing they had to flee from the Middle-East for their musical taste.
One of their albums was called "As Jerusalem Burns"... maybe they had to flee after that one.

Great band though, awesome music. It makes me sad that there are people who cannot express themselves in their home country.

So far my favorite song of theirs, "Lost Tribes":

you want high note's check out King Diamond/Merciful fate. One of the most recognizable falsetto's in metal history.

Oh I know them. And while this is practically metal heresy... I'm not a huge fan. I'm very particular about high-pitched male vocals. Most progressive metal and power metal just gets on my nerves. I can listen to 1-2 songs and that's about it. I like Vintersorg for a lot of reasons: the lyrics are excellent and often in Swedish (gives me a chance to practice), plus he incorporates black metal vocals besides the clean ones, his style is more powerful and less theatrical than some, and he writes all kinds of unique riffs and solos.

The Path soundtrack (the video game, not the series) it's an unusual game, but the soundtrack is amazing.

https://taleoftales.bandcamp.com/album/the-path-ost

Gist of the game is that it's the creator's take on Little Red Riding Hood, with each of the six sisters you can pick to play as different interpretations of the tale. Its a horror game so there's a lot of disturbing imagery to it. The soundtrack itself is pretty haunting and ambient, with occational moments of "the fuck did I just listen to?"

Basically if you loved the film The Company of Wolves you're likely gonna like this game as well since they have similar themes and what-the-fuckery moments. The soundtrack itself is great when you're writing something spooky and need some mood music.
You can't touch music- but music can touch you.

Everything. When I listen to music, I bounce around different genres like crazy. Needless to say, my playlist is very colorful. I just can't stick with listening to one genre of music. Metal is my favorite though. :stick:

Been listening to the album "Fearless" by a band called Legend.
Its so cool that I'm really starting to expand my musical knowledge. I havent been in the scene long (maybe 2 years of dedicated song listening and not just passing by tracks on radios or ones offs on Youtube).
I also finally got to listen to Ghosts new live album Ceromony and Devotion and holy fuck me sideways I need to see those guys live one day before I die. The entire time I was listening had me beaming, and ofcourse singing at the top of my lungs when certain tracks came on (ahem Year Zero).

I love how some of these bands get this super experimental animation for their music videos.

I wasn't sleepy 2 and a half hours ago, but I didn't know what I wanted to do. I ended up going on a binge of Vine compilation vids on YouTube. Three Vines had the first bit of a song and I like the sound of it. I managed to find it. Being a geeky gamer who also likes heavy metal, I love it.

I was listening to Nowhere Fast damn near on repeat while translating Latin all afternoon. Yes, I was doing that for fun. It's relaxing.

Good old Enigma. I have a weakness for 90's-early 2000 new age. I forgot how much Le Roi Est Mort gave me goosebumps on a quiet, cold nights.

Oh hot damn that was awesome! Song's awesome and the animation just adds to it! Adding that to my writing playlist. And my crafternoon playlist. Let's just say I have multiple playlists this applies to. Making playlists is a hobby/addiction of mine.

I couldn't find a crafternoon playlist on Spotify that fit my music tastes, so I made my own. It's got power metal, video game boss music, the more bombastic pieces of classical music, grunge music, and classic rock. I'm a little hardcore when I'm making stuff, so a playlist that fits it is always the cherry on top of a crafting session.

Here's a sampler of that playlist if any of y'all share that sentiment:
