Work was stupidly busy today, but I'm off tomorrow, so I dealt with it okay. That said, I did treat myself a bit just now (despite having treated myself last week to manga...). My mom had brought me some bars of soap the last time they visited. I finally used up the good soap bars she'd brought me when I moved to my apartment back in January, so I had to resort to the Dial bars she'd brought me in April. I hate Dial soap, and one bar lasts barely a week for some reason. They suck. I'm on the last bar. I have a little bit of another bar I'd forgot about and I can use that too till Monday. I could have just gone out and bought more soap, but I decided to try some Lush soaps. I bought one of their naked shower gels (no bottle, so you use it like a bar), and then a big bottle of another of their gels. I still have a ton of shampoo left (m hair gets to 3 inches max before I get it cut or shave it all over, so I barely use any shampoo) or else I'd have tried one of their shampoo bars. That said, my scalp is a bit sensitive and I deal with buildup a lot. My current shampoo does an amazing job dealing with it, since even other specific scalp and dandruff shampoos only work a little bit before I have problems. I don't want to drop money on a shampoo bar that doesn't help with the problem. With the shower gel, especially the liquid one in the bottle, I should actually use less soap, I think. Perhaps I'm a bit weird, but I use a washcloth when I wash; I never just run a bar of soap over myself and use my hands to wash. I use my hands only on my face since a cloth is too rough there, so seeing the gifs on the site of people running the bars of soap over their shoulders perplexes me a bit, lol. EIther way, I'm excited for the new shower gels and I hope I'll like them. I can regift them to my sister and her husband if I don't.

I am thinking of playing games, but I am not in the mood to play games. I guess I should just wait for my boyfriend to come home.

I hear you on the soap thing. My skin is so sensitive, and factory made soaps are way too harsh on me, especially the scalp. Handmade soaps tend to be gentler, and I just adore some of the bars you can get from soap artists. I got one bar for my face from etsy, appearance wise it's nothing too fancy (activated charcoal, peppermint, and tea tree oil) but it really cleared up any redness problems I've had in the face, and its still almost as big as the day I got it. Here's the link to the seller's store if you're interested:

My sister and her hubby tried their hand at making beef tallow soap, and its been about a year since they gave me some of their results and I'm still going through it. I Dunno how they managed making a soap that is gentle on skin but strong enough to take out machine grease, but hey, they did it. I'll have to press them for the recipe if I remember next time we hang out.

Since I've had my hair short (no longer than 3 inches; usually I let it get to around 2 inches before either buzzing it off myself or going to get it done if I'm lazy) I've had fewer issues, but when it was super long (9 years ago now) I had major issues with buildup and the like. Tresemme's Deep Cleanse shampoo is the only shampoo I've found so far that I can use repeatedly without dealing with much buildup. Others like Head and Shoulders and Selsun Blue work for a few uses before I start having problems again. Hence why I'm very hesitant to drop money on a shampoo bar that may or may not work the same way.

For my face I tend to use a generic (Neutrogena or store-brand) acne face wash and only my hands to form a lather (I use a washcloth on the rest of myself) and it does the trick. I only get a bit of acne when my period is going to start; other than that I stay clear now and don't deal with the redness like I used to.

Thanks for the link! The beef tallow soap sounds interesting and it's good it lasts so long. I'm hoping my Lush shower gels will work out for me. I know from reviews that the one in the bottle (It's Raining Men) is thicker than other gels and some have said it lasts longer. I don't usually have to use that much gel/soap since I just work up a lather with a cloth instead of having to constantly get more soap like what happens when you don't use a cloth. The other is their new Sleepy scent (lavender and such) and doesn't have any reviews, but I love lavender and I hope the bar lasts me a long while. Got to figure out how best to store it since the shelves in my shower are quite small.

I've tried Lush's Godiva shampoo bar and while the scent is 100% perfect for me, it has little bits of flowers that get snagged in my hair. The fragrance it leaves in my hair is nice, but I don't always feel like it cleans it perfectly.

For a while I used shampoo soap bars from a small company called Chagrin Valley. They're made like normal soaps, just formulated for hair- so no silicones, no detergents, etc. I really liked them, but I had to do an acidic rinse after using them because our water is super hard and if you didn't help soften the water, you'd get soap scum in your hair :misc4: A lot of people swear by apple cider vinegar rinses. I can't stand vinegar in any shape or form, so I would use like a teaspoon or two of food grade citric acid dissolved in the cup I would rinse my hair with. Tbh I might start doing those rinses again, they made my hair really soft!

Fortune Cookie Soap also does shampoo bars! They're softer than Lush's and don't have inclusions to snag on hair, so I like them a bit better. But because they're softer, they sometimes can melt a bit on your soap dish. I use one to wash my makeup brushes! They have new scent collections every month, so you can get a wide variety of types of fragrance profiles- but that also means sometimes you feel like you have to stock up if you find a favorite, because collections switch over and then it doesn't get restocked.

I'm currently (as of Friday) using Free & Clear shampoo/conditioner on doctor's orders until I get patch tested in a couple of weeks at the allergist. It works well enough, I guess. I miss having scented hair, rather than... medicinally 'unscented' hair.

I'm still trying to find a good body wash that doesn't trigger body/back acne that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Hopefully the patch testing will help point out what sensitivities I have. My face has been a lot clearer since I stopped wearing makeup, and a Korean double wash (oil/foam cleansers) feels nice occasionally. Otherwise I mostly just splash with water. I really ought to moisturize more often ._.

My skin itself isn't all that sensitive and I've been able to use any number of soaps. My issue is that I have a very strong sense of smell and I don't like the scent of regular bar soaps like Dial, Ivory, etc. To the point that if I can smell the soap through the packaging I won't buy it. Shower gels and nicely scented soaps (lemon/citrus, mint, etc) are much more appealing to my nose.

I like regular white vinegar on certain foods, but I don't much care for the smell itself and definitely wouldn't want my hair smelling like it. For now with how my scalp is, I'm going to stay away from any shampoos and shampoo bars and the like unless I get a free sample and it doesn't screw up my scalp. That said, most times it takes a few uses for me to tell if I'm goign to have problems with it. With my hair so short and because it's thick, I wash my hair just twice a week unless it gets super gross or something. For me I also wouldn't care what the shampoo bar or soap bar is shaped like since 1) I have short hair, so snagging is a non-issue and 2) I don't run bars of soap (or shampoo) over my body directly.

Finally taking no bullshit from family members who think they know better. Ugh... this aunt was relentless. Like I’m an adult and I’m going to make my own decisions. Funny how she’s totally fine with me driving 4+ hours distance when it benefits her but not when it’s something that she wants to control but can’t. Sorry, your pressure tactics aren’t going to work on me. Sorry if I don’t want to cram into a truck with 4 adults and 2 dogs for 4+ hours and be at the whim of the driver who on top of having a vehicle that is way too small (4 adults, 2 dogs and not even an extended cab truck!!) doesn’t want to get my servicedog’s hair on his leather seats but the other dog’s hair is fine. Sorry but my own car has room for me and my dog without restrictions and you know, won’t be doing an impression of a clown car. Plus audiobooks and I’ll have the ability to control when and where I come and go without bullshit. I’d rather not stop at every native casino on the way, thanks. I can also begrudge them for blatantly ignoring my dads wishes that he does not want them visiting him in the hospital. They are going to surprised when I as POA agree with my dad that they don’t need to know squat and no they don’t need to be in the meeting with his care team.

I've got plans with a friend of mine for this weekend, assuming it doesn't get too cold out. I've got kind of a crush on him, which is.. unfortunate, because after the situation where I was led on by another guy for 8 months (the lover ive mentioned on here before) this newer buddy of mine helpfully informed me early on that he only wanted to be friends, to make sure I didn't get hurt again. Which I'm glad for, since at least I have my answer now without making stuff awkward later on, but it hasn't stopped me from catching feelings. Emotions are a royal pain sometimes :unamused:
Normally crushing on someone I can't have is a non-issue. Knowing I can't be with the person means I keep all signs of feelings firmly locked up, to the absolute best of my ability. Unfortunately for me, this guy is so perceptive it's like he's a mind-reader at times. :psyduck: We have worked together for a little over a year but have only recently become friends. This will be the second time we've hung out, the first time there was another friend of his there so it wasn't just us, less chance to act like a tool. I'm worried about making myself look like an idiot without the distraction of work/another person. I don't want to make this weird, he's one of the only friends I've ever had that makes an active effort to speak to and include me. Makes an effort to hang out, notices how I'm feeling, tries to cheer me up when i'm down.. I wouldn't want to scare him off over emotions I can't really control.
And lately he's become comfortable enough with me that he has started to be a little less reserved with his jokes. There's been some pretty wild sexual innuendo. Which is not helping the situation at all. He's got a very teasing flirty personality and frankly I can foresee this being a difficult crush to shake even with the knowledge that it's not happening.

Today I learned that my dad is kind of racist :surprised: not really aggressive about it at all but he was tossing out some real bad stereotypes.
For some context, my ex-lover and new friend are brothers. The family is mexican-american. Ive mentioned them both on here before.
I was walking around this festival in my town yesterday with my new friend, my ex-lover, their older brother, and 4 or so of their friends (two guys and two girls). My ex-lover showed a side of him i hadnt seen before, acting like some kind of thug around his friends. Me and the two older brothers ended up losing the rest of the group in the crowd, which relieved us since that bunch was just too high-energy for us. I was recounting the adventures of the festival, including that whole mess to my dad since a lot of amusing stuff went on. And he attributed my ex-lover's rough behavior to the fact that he's mexican. Spoke as if such a thing was a given, too. As if that's just how "they" are. Like uuuhhhhh.. no?? That's just how he behaves. He's just a young rambunctious guy trying to act cool, no different than the troublemaking white dudebros I knew in high school.
Not even his brothers behave that way. My new buddy is legit the sweetest guy I've ever met, and the oldest brother is settled down with kids. Acts like the average american dad. I legitimately don't understand where my dad is getting these kinds of ideas from. Our town is small and mostly white anyways. Idk. Just sort of shocked me how casually he was tossing around terrible negative stereotypes like that.

Checking things off the to-buy list is not going to plan. Sales that what gets me haha, Build-a-Bear are having a sale and I brought a few shirts and a small cat for my collection. Got plans on making some outfits at one point as it's hard to find exactly what I want. Should really do some illustrations of them at one point, only two of them don't have names yet.
Also had my eyes on another sale but it meant I was able to pick up a few items for Christmas presents so it's a win there.
It's mostly waiting on sales for the main list also. And waiting for the BD Christmas colours, got a toy picked out and ready for when they get announced.
Still tidying up also, takes forever with me. I've spent more time shuffling the dinosaur displays and I am still not happy with it  Still got a few boxes and a figure to fit on. More to come in the future.

I haven't been here for awhile because I'm gaining friends and having a good time with my first group of friends in my entire life. Its sad to find out that the people I wanted to be friends and thought to be friends with are not my friends. They don't like me but they don't hate me at least. I did dig myself a bit a of hole with them. My first mistake was to draw shitty Microsoft office paint rule 34 of one of my friend's character along with other characters that look like his and made that into a subreddit as a joke. They hated that, they did not find that funny. My second mistake was that I made a much shittier Microsoft paint rule 34 of three of my friends and Shrek (no dicks were drawn). I thought no one would be offended by it because of how obvious it is that it is a joke, not to cause any harm, but they got upset, banned me from their discord channel and Facebook chat. One of them blocked me from Facebook. At least I got back in the discord channel. I've learned my lesson that no one thinks its funny to be in a rule 34 drawing, no matter how shitty it was drawn.
I did say sorry to my friends but forgiveness was not given, and it might never be given, because i'm not their friend. I'm just a somebody to them. One of them thinks I'm annoying and he is upset about it.
I do have a growing group of friends that like me. At first it was just one friend and now two more.
I always have difficulties socializing with others my whole life. I was once a quite and shy person and I wanted to make a difference so I could make friends. I'm not doing such a good job at it, but I'm trying and learning.

My dad has banned me and my mum from ordering stuff that doesn't use Royal Mail as their main delivery service.
Well I'm waiting on my Stan and planning to order a Christmas colour one soooooo you can't stop me there.
The reason why he put the ban in was because of other delivery companies failing to deliver on the excepted days mostly because of where we live. It's a waste of time sitting there waiting he says.
Then I ran an agreement with my FedEx courier that he can leave it in the creepy shed, how with where I live it won't get touched

Idk if it was for anyone else, but the forums went down on me for over an hour today :mystery:

Really made me think about how I'd miss this place, even though I don't comment very often.
There's such a wealth of information and experience between all the users here!

Hopefully it's not anything major. Maybe it was just server maintenance?

In other news, I'm thinking about making pork jerky tomorrow! I finally got my hands on some curing salts, so I feel more confident about branching out to other meats than beef. I have a couple of recipes I want to try out before Christmas so I can narrow down which ones I'm going to use as stocking stuffers/presents for my brothers-in-law.

I haven't noticed about the issue, but It seems like a server maintenance.
This forum is like a diary to everyone. It would be sad if it shut down, which it almost did once in the past. A lot of users stopped using this forum because of that. Some users switched to the dragon hoard forum.

I'd like to participate in the Exotic-erotics halloween contest, but I don't have the skills to realize the idea that I have in mind. And in the unlikely event that I won something, I probably couldn't use it because of the lack of money, so... :sniffing:

Sometimes I think about how if I happen to die in some random freak accident, my parents will have to clear out my apartment and inevitably stumble across my extensive Dick Drawer™.
It is not a nice thought.

My parents know of my collection, but knowing and seeing the full collection of Large and XL-Toys are two different things...
Which is why my last will says: "My best friend gets the house and everything in it"
So he's the one to clear it, he already knows what's in it. And not to toss it away but to sell it ;-)
